Ingredients required to make dates laddus
- Dates – 500 grams (without seeds)
- Cashews – 100 grams (finely chopped)
- Almonds – 100 grams (finely chopped)
- Pistachios – 50 grams (finely chopped)
- Makhana – 50 grams (roasted)
- Jaggery – 2 small pieces
- Desi ghee – 50 grams
- Raisins – 100 grams
- Cardamom powder – a pinch
Method of making dates laddu
- Prepare date paste:
- First of all, wash the dates and soak them in water for 10-15 minutes.
- Drain the water and grind the dates in a mixer to make a paste.
- Melt Jaggery:
- Melt the jaggery in a small pan on low flame. Keep in mind that the jaggery should not be too thick.
- Fry Dry Fruits:
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan and add cashew nuts, almonds, pistachios and makhana and fry till they become light golden.
- Mix the ingredients:
- In a large vessel, add date paste, melted jaggery, roasted dry fruits, raisins and cardamom powder.
- Mix all the ingredients well so that it becomes uniform.
- Make Laddu:
- Take the mixture in your hands and make small laddus.
- Let the laddu cool in the refrigerator for a while.

- You can also add walnuts, raisins, or chironji as per your choice.
- Alternative to sugar instead of jaggery:
- If you want to use sugar instead of jaggery, make a syrup by dissolving sugar in water and then add it to the date paste.

- Laddu can be stored in an airtight container for 15-20 days.
