On the initiative of Medical Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar, Mukhyamantri Balika Sambal Yojana has been started in the state with the sensitive idea of improving the sex ratio in the state, promoting girl education, providing economic support, stopping female feticide and securing the future of girls. . For effective implementation of this scheme, an MOU was signed between the Medical and Health Department and the Indian Postal Department on Friday.
Under the MoU, support for financial inclusion will be provided through the Indian Postal Department. Under the scheme, after the birth of one or two girls, a lump sum amount of Rs 30 thousand will be invested in the Sukanya Samriddhi Account and Postal Savings Scheme in the name of each girl child by the state government. Earlier this amount was Rs 10 thousand.
Under the scheme, on completion of the investment period of 21 years, a maturity amount of up to Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand will be payable to the beneficiary. Apart from this, accident insurance of Rs 2 lakh will also be payable to the parents.
