Mumbai: A video of a speeding car hitting a ramp near Talasari on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway two days ago and jumping 25 feet in the air is going viral and NHAI and other agencies have been held responsible for it and it is clumsy and unplanned. Work is going on on the highways. It was alleged that due to this there is heavy traffic and minor accidents in this area.

Rejecting the claims of motorists and locals in this regard, an NHAI official said that after installing the ramp, we have also installed warning boards like ‘Goslow’ and ‘Ramp Ahead’ so that people pay attention. We have been allowed to work in additional lanes so that traffic can flow from the other lane and hence traffic is controlled on this road.

The National Highway Authority has started the cement concreting work on NH-48 earlier this year. Many drivers have made the 121 km journey from Dahisar to Achhad near the Gujarat border. Lack of signboards, wrong dividers and rough roads on the long highway cause a lot of trouble to the drivers. A prominent social activist here alleged that at many places the road has been whitewashed and the ramps are not visible at night, making it difficult to find. Due to unequal height between the two roads, drivers have to face a lot of trouble.
