Fake call center exposed in Noida, 76 accused including 9 women arrested

Noida, 13 December (HS). Noida Police on Friday exposed a fake call center running in Sector-63, which was targeting American citizens and defrauding them. This gang was running a call center named Insta Solution. Till now this gang has cheated more than 1500 people. 76 members of the gang have been arrested. Police investigation has revealed that this gang specially targeted foreign nationals, so that no complaint could be filed against them at the local level. While giving this information to the journalists on Friday, DCP Shakti Mohan Awasthi said that the arrested The 76 people who died include 67 men and nine women. Most of whom are residents of North-East. 58 laptops, 45 chargers, 2 routers, 45 headphones, 24 mobile phones and an Apple MacBook have been recovered from their possession. He told that the gang members used to send bugs to the computers of American citizens, due to which their screens turned blue.

After this a helpline number appeared on the screen. When the victim would call that number, the call center employees would pretend to be representatives of Microsoft, Amazon or other big companies and demand $99 to $500 to repair the computer. Payment was taken through Bitcoin, gift cards or other digital means. The gang members used to buy data of American citizens through Skype app and then use it for their work. Fake messages or voice notes were sent to customers. In which they are told that their account has been hacked or a parcel is ready in their name. Due to this fear, the victims were forced to pay. He told that this call center was jointly run by Kurunal, Sauram, Sadiq and Sajid Ali. All of them have already been accused of going to jail in fraud cases in Gujarat. The gang also used to cheat American citizens in the name of giving loans. Loan related messages were sent to the victims on the basis of data received from Skype. If a person showed interest in taking a loan, he would be asked for $100 to $500. If the money was not paid, their bank accounts would be targeted by sending fake cheques.
