AUS-W vs IND-W: The Indian women’s team has been fined 10 percent of its match fee for slow over-rate in the second ODI of the ICC Women’s Championship series against Australia. In this three-match series, India had to face a crushing 3-0 defeat against Australia.

India’s players and player support staff were charged under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct. This section deals with the offenses of slow over rate, whereby players are fined 5 per cent of their match fee for each over they fail to bowl within the stipulated time.
ICC match referee David Gilbert penalized the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team as India had bowled two overs less than the stipulated time keeping in mind the time limit.
These allegations were made by on-field umpires Claire Polosek and Donovan Koch, third umpire Jacqueline Williams and fourth umpire David Taylor. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur pleaded guilty and accepted the proposed punishment, so a formal hearing was not required.
Australia won the series 3-0
The Indian team played three ODI matches against Australia but had to face defeat in all three. In the last match, Indian team’s opener Smriti Mandhana batted brilliantly and scored a century, but her century could not help India win. The second ODI between the two teams was played in Brisbane, in which Australia made a record score of 371/8. In reply, India could score only 249 runs and lost the match by 122 runs.
