Issue: More than 18 crore e-currency issued in the country in 5 years: Nitin Gadkari

Road Transport and National Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, while replying to a question in Parliament, said that in the last 5 years, 18 crore 24 lakh 5 thousand 50 e-challans have been issued. The government has earned billions of rupees from this. Tamil Nadu has been the top state in issuing e-challans, with more than 5 crore e-challans issued in just 5 years.

Government earns crores of rupees

Further, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that in the period from January 1, 2019 to December 2023, the government has earned approximately Rs 12 thousand 631 crore 97 lakh 14 thousand 315 from e-currency. More than Rs 755 crore was recovered against more than 5 crore e-challans issued in Tamil Nadu. Apart from this, 90 lakh 22 thousand 711 e-challans have been issued in Delhi. Due to which the government has earned Rs 571 crore 43 lakh 38 thousand 802.
