UPSC Success Story: Clearing the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination is a tough challenge for every candidate. This exam tests not only your intellectual ability but also your mental strength and determination. Every year lakhs of candidates dream of becoming a civil servant, but only a few are able to overcome personal and academic hurdles and achieve their goal. One such inspirational story is that of IAS officer Alankrita Pandey, who despite struggles, achieved success on the strength of patience and perseverance.
The journey of becoming an IAS started from Kanpur
Alankrita Pandey, resident of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, started her UPSC preparation journey in 2014. She had decided that she would make her career in civil services. But there were many ups and downs in his journey.
Left prelims exam due to depression
In 2014, Alankrita faced a personal crisis, which deeply affected her mental health. She became a victim of depression. She turned to therapy, anger management sessions, and support from family and friends during those difficult times. The mental condition became such that he had to leave the UPSC Prelims exam of 2014.
However, he did not give up in this difficult time. His determination remained strong and he did not let his dream be broken.
Success in first attempt in 2015
Alankrita left all her problems aside and started preparing for UPSC afresh. His struggle and hard work finally paid off. In the year 2015, he achieved All India 85th rank in his very first attempt. His achievement was commendable and got him included in the IAS batch of 2016.
First he was appointed in West Bengal cadre. She later married IAS officer Anshul Aggarwal, after which she was transferred to Bihar cadre.
How did Alankrita prepare for UPSC?
After completing her early studies, Alankrita obtained an engineering degree from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT), Allahabad. After this he worked in an IT company in Bengaluru.
During UPSC preparation, he maintained discipline in his daily routine. She used to study for about 8 hours daily. His hard work and strategic preparation led him to success.
