Jalaun, 10 December (Hindustan Reporter). In Konch Kotwali area, the matter of a big bullion businessman collectively calling goldsmiths across the city as thieves escalated till late night. The dispute between traders has taken the form of a dispute between two communities, Agrawal and Goldsmith. The result of which was that both the parties came forward and there was a heated argument between them. The CO and Kotwal arrived on information and pacified both the parties. After taking the complaint from both the sides, the police have given instructions to detain 50-50 people from both the sides.
According to the information, on Monday night a customer had accused Prabhanjan Jewelers of cheating him by misrepresenting 85 percent gold as 73 percent. As alleged by the goldsmiths, in order to satisfy the customer, the goldsmiths across the city were collectively branded as thieves, on which the goldsmiths of the entire market got enraged and gave an application to the police, raising slogans against Prabhanjan Jewellers.
Meanwhile, there was a fight between two youths in the crowd outside Prabhanjan Jewellers, after which the matter became very heated and hundreds of people from both the sides came face to face and fierce fighting started from both the sides. The matter escalated so much that it even reached the point of fighting. Seeing the matter escalating, someone informed the police. Immediately, CO Archana Singh and Kotwal Arun Kumar Rai arrived with heavy police force and most of the police inspectors of the police station took charge and chased away the people from both the sides with sticks, only then there was peace. Complaints have been given to the police from both sides regarding this entire matter.
Kotwal Arun Kumar Rai says that the applications given from both the parties are being investigated. Strict action is being taken against those who create ruckus on the streets. He has said that both sides have openly tried to disturb the peace. Fifty people from both sides are being detained. He said that action will be taken by identifying people through videos and photographs.
