Anti-India protest in Bangladesh: Amid India-Bangladesh tensions, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) workers protested against the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Sunday. Thousands of supporters of three BNP organizations marched to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka to protest against the attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Tripura. The atmosphere outside the Indian High Commission turned tense when three organizations of BNP, student wing Jatiyawadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), youth wing Jatiyawadi Jubo Dal (JJD) and volunteer wing Jatiyawadi Shekhsebak Dal (JSD) protested.

According to reports, workers of the three organizations gathered in front of the BNP headquarters in Nayapaltan area of ​​the capital Dhaka. In which the protesting people expressed their protest with placards in their hands. The protest came a day ahead of Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Mistry’s visit to Dhaka amid rising tensions between the two neighbors in recent months. After marching for 6 kilometers in Dhaka, the march was stopped by police barricades in Rampura area. From there a delegation went to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka and submitted a memorandum.

Earlier, after the intrusion incident at the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission complex in Agartala on December 2, India had decided to increase the security of the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi and other diplomatic complexes in the country. Meanwhile, the situation has become tense due to the news of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh. Cases of arson and looting of minority houses and vandalism of temples have also come to light.

Another Hindu temple was set on fire on the outskirts of Dhaka on Friday night. The Mahabhagya Lakshminarayan Temple in Dhor village, north of Dhaka, was attacked. Temple inspector Babul Ghosh said a police complaint has been lodged against unknown persons in connection with the burning of his ancestral temple.
