Maharashtra Cabinet Minister: After much speculation and controversy, Maharashtra has got a Chief Minister. But, no consensus has been reached yet regarding the ministry. According to the information, Bharatiya Janata Party has clearly refused to give Home Ministry to Shiv Sena. Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Chief Minister during a ceremony held on Thursday. Along with this, Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party chief Ajit Pawar have also taken oath as Deputy Chief Minister.

BJP will not give home department?

According to information received from a BJP source, BJP has made it clear to the alliance partner Shiv Sena that it cannot give the Home Ministry. BJP has given Shinde the option to choose from Revenue, Urban Development and Public Works departments. Besides, Ajit Pawar is also being asked to give money and schemes.

When will be the cabinet area?

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the cabinet will be expanded before the winter session starting from December 16 in Nagpur. However, according to information received from BJP sources, the cabinet may be expanded during the special session between 7 and 9 December.

It is also coming to light from Maharashtra that Shiv Sena was putting pressure on the Home Ministry in Mahayuti. Besides, BJP, which won 132 seats out of 288, has also insisted on keeping the Home Ministry with itself. Fadnavis had recently said that there is a BJP-led government at the Centre. BJP holds the Union Home Ministry in Delhi. In such a situation, mutual cooperation will become easier if the same party gets the Home Ministry.

Who will get how many sections?

According to the information, BJP will have 18 to 20 ministers. Shiv Sena will have 12 to 14 ministers and NCP will have 9 to 11 ministers. It is likely that there will be 30 to 35 ministers in the coalition government. A total of 43 ministers including the Chief Minister can stay in the state. Apart from this, BJP is also in the mood to retain energy, water resources, tribal welfare, housing, rural development, OBC welfare and higher and technical education.

It is noteworthy that in the previous government, BJP had the Revenue and Public Works departments. Now if Shiv Sena handles urban development, the revenue or public works will go to BJP. Besides, Shiv Sena may also get priority in some departments including industry, school education, health, water supply, minority development and Waqf board development, Marathi language.
