Lucknow, 09 December (HS). Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh will open veterinary colleges in Gorakhpur and Bhadohi to improve the quality of animal wealth and increase milk production. This will benefit the cattle rearers of Purvanchal as well as Bihar and Nepal. Both the colleges of Gorakhpur and Bhadohi will be affiliated to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Veterinary Sciences University and Cow Research Institute, Mathura.
For the establishment of a college in Gorakhpur, 80 acres of land has been identified in Tal Nador located on the Gorakhpur-Varanasi Highway. The construction of the first phase will cost Rs 228 crore. Yogi government has also allocated Rs 100 crore for this in the budget of February 2024. Recently, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Tal Nadaur and gave instructions to develop the veterinary college as a model. Gorakhpur Veterinary College includes basic facilities like hospital block, academic block, staff quarter, hostel. Yogi government intends to upgrade it as a university in future.
15 acres of land marked in Bhadohi for college
The Veterinary College in Bhadohi which was announced by the Chief Minister during his first term is also being implemented rapidly. In this regard, 15 acres of land was also identified in Jorai and Vedpur villages. A budget of Rs 50 crore has been approved for its construction in the state budget in February 2024. Many experts from Mathura’s Veterinary University have already come and given the green signal for the construction of the college and complex.
Bhadohi’s Veterinary College will be like this
According to the spokesperson of the state government, the academic building, laboratory and hostel of the college will be constructed in 10 acres of the veterinary college to be built in Bhadohi. Block Label Court Complex is to be constructed on five acres. NOC for its construction has also been received from the Higher Education Department. There will be undergraduate, postgraduate and veterinary related studies in the college. The construction of the college will benefit the youth of ten districts of Purvanchal.
At present, Uttar Pradesh is number one in the country in terms of milk production. With this step of Yogi government, milk production in the state will definitely increase in the coming time.
