Explosives along with narcotics seized in Mizoram

Aizawl, 07 December (Hindustan Reporter). Security forces have achieved special success in conducting operations against narcotics and explosives in Mizoram. Nearly one lakh methamphetamine tablets weighing 9.595 kg were seized from a vehicle during a raid in Bankan area of ​​the state’s Champai district, police said on Saturday.

Apart from this, 90 grams of heroin was also seized from eight boxes of soap. The value of the seized items is Rs 1.24 lakh 73 thousand and Rs 2 lakh 70 thousand respectively. A smuggler named Radin Luanga was arrested with the bullets.

On the other hand, Assam Rifles and Thingsai police of Lunglei district conducted a joint operation in one vehicle at Thingshai checkgate and seized 31 cartoons filled with 6,200 gelatin sticks, 47 cartoons filled with 100 detonators and 15 cortex rolls. According to police sources, the value of the seized explosives is Rs 5 lakh 500. The driver of the vehicle, Lallam Juyala, was arrested on charges of explosive smuggling.

Similarly, 2.28 kg of Yaba tablets and 244.5 kg of heroin were seized by Assam Rifles and Excise and Narcotics Department in Mulkavi village of Champai district. Whose market value has been estimated at Rs 8.56 crore. The recovered drugs and explosives were handed over to the local police along with the arrested persons for further action.
