DC and other officers contributed on Armed Forces Flag Day

Hamirpur, 7 December (Hindustan Reporter). On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Amarjeet Singh and other senior officers of the district contributed to help the soldiers martyred or injured in various wars and military operations and their families. Squadron Leader (Retd) Manoj Rana, Deputy Director, District Sainik Welfare Office, presented the Armed Forces flag to the Deputy Commissioner and received contributions from him.

ADM Rahul Chauhan, ASP Rajesh Kumar, SDM Sanjeet Singh, CMO Dr. Praveen Chaudhary, Dr. Sunil Verma and other officers also contributed.

Wishing the soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents of the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy on this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated every year on 7th December. This day is dedicated to those brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives or were seriously injured while protecting the motherland. He said that on this day people are collected by hoisting special flags. This amount is spent on helping the families of martyred soldiers and disabled soldiers and this donated amount is completely income tax free. The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to all the district residents for maximum contribution on the Armed Forces Flag Day.

Amarjeet Singh directed the officers of Sainik Welfare Department to specially set up a donation box in the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises, so that the common people coming here every day can also contribute.
