Moradabad, 07 December (HS). On Saturday, Moradabad Municipal Corporation has once again extended the period of 15 percent exemption in depositing house tax. Now this discount will be available till 31st December.
Earlier, this exemption had expired on 30th November. Till November 30, only 42 percent of the building owners had availed the benefit of this discount given by the Corporation. At the same time, 59 percent of the building owners did not like this discount of the corporation and they did not take advantage of this discount.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Atul Yadav said that a total of 1,52,715 buildings within the limits of Moradabad Municipal Corporation come under the tax net. Till November 30, only 63,122 of these building owners have deposited taxes. There are still 89,593 buildings falling under the purview of the corporation, whose tax has not been deposited yet. Among these, there are 31,466 buildings which had to deposit tax for the first time. The Municipal Corporation has given one more chance to all these defaulters to deposit tax with exemption.
Consumers will get the benefit of 15 percent discount on depositing home tax by December 31. Camps will also be organized by the corporation for tax collection. He further said that in the financial year 2024-25, the Municipal Corporation has also received a revenue of Rs 33.15 crore from the buildings from which tax has been collected till 30th November.
