ED seizes new assets worth Rs 388 crore in Mahadev app case

New Delhi, 07 December (Hindustan Reporter). The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized new assets worth around Rs 388 crore as part of its ongoing money laundering probe in the Mahadev online betting app case. Many politicians and bureaucrats of Chhattisgarh are allegedly involved in this case.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Central Investigation Agency said that the ED Raipur Zonal Office has provisionally attached the movable and immovable properties on December 05, 2024 under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA). According to the agency, these assets include investments related to Hari Shankar Tibrewal through FPI and FDI by Mauritius-based company M/s Tano Investment Opportunities Fund and promoters, panel operators and associates of promoters of several betting apps and websites based in Chhattisgarh, Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh. The ED said a provisional order was issued on December 5 under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to attach these properties, the total value of which is Rs 387.99 crore. The Central Investigation Agency said that Tibrewal is being interrogated in this case. Many such orders have been issued during this investigation and with the latest order so far assets worth Rs 2,295.61 crore have been either frozen, attached or seized.
