Women Schemes: The central government is running many schemes aimed at financially empowering women. One of these is ‘Mahila Samman Bachat Patra’ (MSSC). The central government has started this scheme to attract women towards investment.
This Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Scheme has been launched especially for women, which provides attractive returns on investments made by women. This scheme, announced by the Government of India in the Union Budget 2023, is a pillar of support for women.
Through this scheme, a deposit facility of up to Rs 2 lakh is being provided in the name of women or girls for a period of 2 years. High interest is available on this. This scheme is available in post office as well as many banks. This scheme, launched in 2023, will be available for two years i.e. till March 2025.
The central government has made this scheme keeping women investors in mind. Those investing in this scheme will get a fixed interest of 7.5 percent annually. Interest is calculated every 3 months. Later this amount is deposited in the account. Any woman can join this scheme.
To join the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate (MSSC) scheme, the account should be opened in the name of the woman. Account can be opened by becoming the guardian of children and other minors. This scheme has already received an overwhelming response from women.
