East Champaran, 06 December (HS). Under the special campaign being run against animal smugglers on the instructions of SP Swarn Prabhat, Sugauli police station has arrested three animal smugglers along with 34 animals loaded on two pickups.
Giving information about this, SP Swarn Prabhat said that information was received that an animal loaded in a pickup vehicle on NH-28 Motihari-Bettiah road was being taken for smuggling. Taking immediate action after the information, the team formed under the leadership of DSP Sadar-02 started checking the vehicle. Meanwhile, seeing the police vehicle, the cattle smugglers tried to run away, but the armed forces chased them away and caught both the pickups at Bangra Over Bridge of Sugauli police station area and West Champaran, Bettiah Sripur border. On which buffalo, 17 buffaloes and 17 pada, a total of 34 animals were found. was recovered and three animal smugglers including the driver and sub-driver of the pickup vehicle were arrested.
The identity of the three arrested was Sheikh Salman, father late. Sheikh Abid, village Khadda Kunjalhi, police station- Nautan, district- Bettiah, Shahrukh Nat, father Madan Nat, village- Balua Peregwa, police station- Yogapatti, district- Bettiah and Tufani Rai, father- Banshi Rai, village Balua Peregwa, police station Yogapatti, district. -It was found in Bettiah. During interrogation, these people told that they were taking all the recovered animals to Nepal. Where The sacrifice was to be sold at a good price in the Garhi Mai fair.
Further action is being taken against the smugglers by registering a case in Sugauli police station under Section 11 of the Cruelty to Animals Act 1960. The raid team includes DSP Sadar 2 Jitesh Pandey, Circle Inspector Ashok Kumar Pandey, Sugauli Police Station Head Amit Kumar Singh, Additional Station Head Abhinav. Raj, SI Shambhu Sah Dilip Kumar Singh, Naveen Kumar, Vashisht Kumar, Vishwajeet Pandit, Chowkidar Sameer Armed forces of Alam, Lal ji and Sugauli police station were involved.
