Indian team was all out for 180 runs.
After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Team India’s first innings ended at 180 runs. Nitish Reddy scored 42 runs while KL Rahul scored 37 runs. Mitchell Starc took maximum 6 wickets for Australia. This was the 15th 5 wicket haul of his Test career.
Rahul played an inning of 77 runs in Perth
In the Perth Test against Australia, Rahul played in place of captain Rohit Sharma and made important contributions with the bat in both the innings. He played important innings of 26 runs in the first innings and 77 runs in the second innings. His 201-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second innings laid the foundation for the team’s victory, with India setting a target of 534 runs for the Kangaroos. In front of this huge target, the Kangaroo team was reduced to just 238 runs and lost the match by 295 runs. The effect of this partnership of Rahul-Yashshvi was that captain Rohit did not trouble the pair in Adelaide and retained himself to bat at number six.
India made three changes in the team
Before this, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. India has made three changes in its playing eleven for this match and apart from the captain, Shubman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin have been included in the team. These three players replaced Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar.
