The eliminator match of the second season of the Women's Premier League will be played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday. Harmanpreet Kaur-led Mumbai team finished second in the current season. Bengaluru team stood third. Meg Lanning's Delhi Capitals won the last league match played on Wednesday and qualified directly for the finals with the top position. The winner of the eliminator will face Delhi in the final on Sunday. Eliminator matches will start at 7:30 pm.
Mandhana's Bengaluru team won four out of eight matches. Mumbai team achieved five wins in eight matches. In the current season, both the teams played two league matches against each other and both won one match each. Last season, Mumbai had won both the matches. In the match played between the two teams on 12 March, all-rounder Ellyse Perry achieved the best bowling figures in the history of the Women's League, taking six wickets for 15 runs. Even in the eliminator match, Bangalore team will be heavily dependent on Perry.
Bangalore has match-winning players like captain Smriti Mandhana, Shroyanka Patil, Renuka Singh, Sophie Molineux and Sophie Devine. Apart from Harmanpreet Kaur, Mumbai team will rely on experienced players like Pooja Vastrakar, Saika Ishaq, Yastika Bhatia, Alyssa Mathews, Shabnim Ismail.
Mumbai team had played Priyanka Bala in place of Yastika Bhatia in the last match. Yastika could not play due to illness. He is fit and available to play in Friday's match. Priyank had batted well in the last match due to which Humera Qazi will have to be out of the playing eleven.
