FIFA has scheduled a Club World Cup tournament for mid-2025 in preparation for the 2026 Football World Cup, and it was drawn in Miami. The tournament will feature 32 of the world’s top football teams and each has been placed in four pots (groups). Manchester City and Real Madrid top the group.
Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami team has been placed in the last pot. The Club World Cup will be played in America from June 15 to July 13 next year. The event will feature the top 12 teams from various leagues in Europe. Pot 1 includes European powerhouses Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and top four South American teams Flamingo, Palmeris, River Plate and Fluminense. Pot-2 will have European qualifier teams. Apart from Neymar Jr’s Al Hilal, Pot-3 will have two teams from Africa, North and Central America and the Caribbean Confederation, as well as two teams from South America. Despite being eliminated from the league before this year’s MLS Cup playoffs, Inter Miami has been included in Pot-4. The 12 teams to qualify include Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, Porto, Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Juventus and Hamburg.
