Sydney, 6 December (Hindustan Reporter). Josh Inglis has been released from the Australian Test team and has now joined the Western Australia team to play the Sheffield Shield.
Three-time champions Western Australia, who are currently second in the standings this summer, had not included Inglis in their 13-man squad for the clash against New South Wales (NSW) at the SCG starting today .
But after Australia confirmed they would not make any changes to their squad for the second Test against India in Adelaide, Inglis left for Sydney on Thursday evening and was included in the Western Australia XI.
Inglis is the only member of Australia’s expanded Test squad, which now includes Beau Webster, Sean Abbott and Brendan Doggett, to be released to play in this round of Shield matches.
This round ends on Monday, which means Inglis will be available for selection for the third Test against India starting on December 14 in Brisbane.
A Cricket Australia (CA) spokesperson said that Inglis could be recalled to the Test team if needed.
