Dehradun, 06 December (HS). The weather pattern in Uttarakhand is going to deteriorate from December 7, when western disturbance will be active. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain in many parts of the state and snowfall in high altitude areas on 08 and 09 December. Dehradun, Nainital, Pauri and Tehri districts may receive light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms. With this rain the cold will increase and there will be relief from dry cold. However, the weather is expected to remain clear from December 10.
Director of the State Meteorological Center, Dr. Bikram Singh said that these changes in the weather will bring down the temperature across the state, which will increase the severe cold. Snowfall may also occur in high hilly areas, which will become a tourist attraction. In such a situation, people should be alert to protect themselves from cold and be cautious while traveling during rains.
Experts believe that due to the increasing effects of cold, the elderly, women, children and pregnant women need to take special precautions. They have been advised to wear warm clothes to avoid extreme cold and take adequate diet, so that winter-related diseases can be avoided.
