Mirzapur, 6 December (Hindustan Reporter). Rabi agricultural seminar and farmer fair was organized on Thursday in Pipradad of development block CT. The program was inaugurated by Majhwan MLA Suchismita Maurya by lighting the lamp. The MLA advised farmers to adopt cultivation of coarse grains like ragi, sawa, kodo, millet, and jowar. He said that cultivation of coarse grains provides more production with less water and cost, thereby increasing the income of farmers.
Joint Agriculture Director Ashok Upadhyay appealed to the farmers to convert paddy straw into manure instead of burning it or donate it to cow shelters. In the program, Deputy Agriculture Director Vikesh Kumar gave information about departmental schemes and said that this time the seminar is being organized in villages so that more farmers can take advantage of it.
Dr. SN Singh, who came from the Ministry of Agriculture Welfare, gave information about soil health improvement.
Professor Shriram Singh of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Barkachha explained the solutions to Rabi crops and their related pest problems. Dr. Sudhir Srivastava discussed the benefits of organic and natural farming.
The program was conducted by Ashok Srivastava. Pankaj Mishra, other departmental officers, employees and farmers participated in it. In the program, various departments set up their stalls and provided information related to agriculture, animal husbandry, and crop insurance to the farmers.
