Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan has invited senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis to form the new government. He will take oath as the Chief Minister of the state on Thursday (December 5). Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar and two deputy chief ministers will also take oath at a ceremony in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Azad Maidan in south Mumbai. Strict security arrangements

BJP leader Prasad Lad said that around 42,000 people will attend the swearing-in ceremony. He said that Prime Minister Modi, nine to ten Union Ministers and 19 Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers will attend this function. He said special arrangements have been made for 40,000 BJP supporters and separate seating arrangements have been made for 2,000 VIPs, including leaders of different religions.

In the elections held on November 20 in Maharashtra, the BJP achieved remarkable success by winning 132 out of 288 assembly seats in the state, which is its best performance so far in the state. Shiv Sena and the grand alliance of NCP and BJP have majority with 230 seats.
