E-filing portal: Common people like only court-related films. But, in real life whenever people have to face court, it is not as easy as in the movies. Because, it also involves lengthy legal process, paperwork, lawyer’s fees and the pain of ‘date after date’. But, the problem becomes even worse when the issue involves poor service or a defective product. Meaning, as an online user, having previously received poor service, go back to court for compensation. But, this will not happen now as the e-filing portal has been launched all over India.
Complaint can be lodged sitting at home

e-filing portal
This portal was launched only in the year 2020. Delhi was the first state to implement it on 8 September 2020. However, from November 2024, this portal has been launched in all the states and union territories of the country. You can file a case yourself on edaakhil.nic.in. Meaning, if any hotel or restaurant owner is forcibly charging service charge or any e-commerce portal is selling wrong goods, then you can lodge your complaint on this portal. Even if stale food has arrived from the hotel or the company refuses to provide service on a product under warranty, solutions can also be found on this portal.
Many facilities will be available through digital medium from July 20, 2020 on this portal created under the Consumer Protection Act 2019. Such as, e-notices, links to download documents related to the case, video links for hearing through video conferencing, facility for the other party to file written reply and SMS/email alert facility etc.
How can you use?
Email and mobile number will be required to log in to the portal. An OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Then you can fill all the information related to the complaint. Not only this, there is also a facility to download supporting documents related to the complaint. The portal can be used by common users as well as advocates. The portal’s app is also available on Google Play and App Store.
