Guwahati: Beef has been banned in Assam, which was announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Due to which there will be a ban on keeping or selling beef in the entire state, beef is not being sold in all the restaurants and hotels of the state.
Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma said that we had brought a law three years ago to stop cow slaughter in Assam. This law has been very successful in stopping homicide. Now we have decided that beef will not be sold in any restaurant or hotel in Assam. Not only this, beef cannot be served in public places or at functions including weddings.
Earlier, the sale of beef was banned around temples in Assam, which has now been implemented in the entire state. After this ban, Assam Government Minister Piyush Hazarika said that whoever does not like this ban on selling beef should go to Pakistan. I challenge the Congress in Assam to either accept this decision of the government or go to Pakistan. Recently by-elections were also held in Assam, in which on BJP’s victory, Congress had alleged that BJP had snatched the votes of the voters by throwing a beef party. After which the Minister of Assam made these allegations.
