The Brisbane International Tennis Tournament has announced a star-studded line-up of 61 professional tennis players led by 24 Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic. The tournament will be played from December 29 at the Pat Rafter Arena. Djokovic, a 10-time Australian Open champion and 99 title winner, will play in Brisbane for the first time since 2009.
This tournament also started in 2009. 2024 has been a disappointing year for Djokovic. He could not win any of the four Grand Slams but won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. The Serbian player will now try to win his career record 25th Grand Slam at the Brisbane Open. Reigning champions Grigor Dimitrov, Holger Rune and Francisco Tiafoe will also take part in the tournament. Nick Kyrgios, Alexei Popyrin, Jordan Thompson, Sebastian Korda, Matteo Berretoni and Gael Monfils have also been nominated for the tournament. Djokovic has not played professional tennis since losing to Jannik Sinner on 13 October.
