Newly elected US President Donald Trump has nominated Indian-origin Kash Patel as the new director of America’s top spy agency Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in his new government. He will take office after Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. But Iran has already targeted Patel.
Iranian cyber hackers have launched a series of continuous cyber attacks on Kash Patel’s communication devices. The FBI is currently investigating how much data or other assets related to Patel were damaged in the attack by Iranian hackers. According to reports, sources claimed that Kash Patel, Trump’s pick to head the FBI, was recently told that he was the target of possible Iran-backed cyber hackers. The FBI has declined to comment on the matter at this time. Donald Trump on Saturday nominated his old aide Kash Patel for the post of FBI Director. He announced that he planned to remove FBI Conduct Director Christopher Wray and nominate Kash Patel to replace him.
