In the first Test match played in Perth, Australia’s legendary bowler Nathan Lyon could not work the magic of his spin bowling. He performed average for his team. However, Lyon is now busy preparing for the second match. The second match will be played with pink ball in Adelaide on 6 December. Before this match, Nath Lyon looked unhappy with the decision of the Indian team management.
Nathan Lyon angry with India’s decision
In the first Test match played in Perth, the Indian team management had dropped R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja from the playing eleven. Now Nathan Lyon has given his reaction on this decision. He spoke to the media before the second test match and also threw light on the players of the Indian team. Meanwhile, he said that he was surprised when Ashwin and Jadeja were not included in the playing eleven. But this is the specialty of Indian players. Ashwin has taken more than 530 wickets and Jadeja has taken more than 300 wickets.
Questions raised regarding Jadeja and Ashwin
During his conversation, the Australian spinner expressed his desire to see Ashwin and Jadeja in the playing eleven. Lyon has hinted at changes in India’s playing eleven. But Ashwin and Jadeja are not that effective on Australian soil, because the spinners’ balls turn less on the fast pitches of Australia.
That’s why the Indian team is relying on fast bowlers. India fielded two all-rounders in the first Test, including Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar. Both these players have the ability to bat long along with bowling. In such a situation, the eyes of the team management are on these two players before Ashwin and Jadeja.
Both have excellent records in India
R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have excellent records in India. At present, R Ashwin is number 1 among the active wicket takers in the world in Tests. Ashwin has taken 536 wickets in Tests so far while Lyon has taken 532 wickets. Jadeja has also taken 319 wickets in Tests. However, on Indian pitches, Ashwin and Jadeja have performed well compared to the host nations (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia).
