Punjab farmers protest: It has been reported that there is a great turmoil in the minds of Punjab. Many policemen have been injured in the violent clash between farmers and police. The police lathi-charged the protesting farmers and in response the farmers also pelted stones at the police. Three police station incharges and several policemen were injured in the violent clash. Tension increased as farmers marched from Mansa to Lelewala. Farmers disagree with the government regarding the Gujarat Gas Pipeline Project. Police say that when the farmers became agitated they had to resort to lathi charge. SHO Bhikhi is seriously injured. Both his hands were seriously injured. Several police officers including two other policemen were injured during the encounter.

According to the information received, all the farmers were coming to Mansa from Talwandi Sabo via Sangrur. It is being told that the police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the farmers, in which some farmers were injured.
