Virginia: A Gujarati living in Virginia, USA has found it difficult to figure out how soon he can get married after the death of his wife. 33 year old Gujarati Naresh Bhatt has been arrested for the murder of his Nepali wife. Although his wife’s body has still not been found, the police strongly suspect that he has murdered his wife. Circumstantial evidence also points in this direction. The biggest proof of this is that he discovered how long after his wife’s death he could marry.

Police say 28-year-old Mamta Kafeel Bhatt, a native of Nepal, is missing. After this Mamta went missing, her husband was seen buying suspicious things and searching for how he could get married so soon after his wife’s death. His wife Mamta was last seen on 29 July. After that his body was not found.

A Virginia grand jury also indicted a Mensah Park resident on charges of murder and disposing of his wife’s body. He was then accused of making suspicious purchases. Mamata was found missing since August 5 during a health checkup by local authorities.

It is believed that Mamata died shortly after she went missing. During interrogation, Bhatt said that they were preparing to separate. The government lawyer alleged that in April he was exploring how soon he could get married after his wife’s death. Thus he committed murder in a planned manner. Additionally he was also exploring what would happen if his wife went missing in Virginia.

Apart from this, Bhatt bought three knives from a local supermarket. Two of these have not been located yet. Surveillance footage showed her purchasing cleaning supplies at Walmart. The lawyers claimed that Bhatt had disposed of the bloodstained mat. Bhatt’s lawyer argued that his wife was still alive. But DNA evidence shows his blood was found at the home. This shows that he was murdered and his body was disposed of.
