Moradabad, March 14 (HS). Police is taking swift action against criminals in the districts of Moradabad region. To make the upcoming Lok Sabha elections peaceful and fair, the police is investigating the current activities of professional and history-sheeter criminals.
Action is being taken against people active in crime. In the same sequence, the police has also taken action against 605 accused under the Goonda Act in the months of January and February. In this, 165 accused have been transferred to the district. Among these accused, 13 people were found roaming in the district even after changing the district, so the police arrested them.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Muniraj ji said that the controversies that took place in the last elections and the cases of their accused are also being studied and action is being taken. He said that a total of 605 cases have been registered under the Goonda Act in the districts of the region. Of these, maximum 173 cases have been registered in Bijnor, 171 in Amroha, 155 in Moradabad, 67 in Rampur and 39 in Sambhal under the Goonda Act.
