Bhopal, 4 December (HS). Governor Mangubhai Patel said that Wheel Chair Cricket Tournament is an opportunity to see and showcase divine powers. Giving an opportunity to disabled people to showcase their divine powers during sports is a commendable initiative. He talked about how disabled players bat with their physical challenges. Let’s go bowling. To see fielding is to encounter divinity. Those people who get frustrated with minor physical and mental challenges will get new inspiration and enthusiasm.
Governor Patel was addressing the inaugural program of the Orthopedic Women and Men Wheel Chair Day and Night Cricket Tournament organized by Umang Gauravdeep Welfare Society on Wednesday. On this occasion, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang, Social Justice Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha, Principal Secretary Social Justice Sonali Wayangankar Pokshe, Commissioner Ramarao Bhosale and sports lovers were present. The competition was organized at the Old Campion Ground.
The one who keeps playing is the winner
Governor Patel said that the truth of life is that results are achieved only with continuous efforts. Winning or losing does not matter as much as playing continuously. Only those who play continuously are winners. Praising the players for their enthusiasm and spirit, he said that playing with sportsmanship is the only way to become a winner. He said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat in the year 2000. Since then he has been working for the upliftment of sports and players. A new environment has been created towards sports and players in the country. Similarly, Modi has provided new opportunities for progress and development to the disabled people. In this sequence, a youth conference is being held in the month of January, in which youth selected through various competitions will participate. He called upon the players and youth present at the competitions to participate in these competitions and try to join the conference.

Governor Patel remained present in the Orthopedic Women and Men Wheel Chair Cricket Tournament for half an hour more than the scheduled period. In the cricket match being played between Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, observed the game of six overs out of the 10 scheduled overs of batting of Chhattisgarh men’s team. Boosted the morale of the players. Earlier, Governor Patel infused enthusiasm among the players by playing cricket. Sports and Youth Welfare Cooperative Minister Vishwas Sarang saluted the spirit of the players participating in the competition. He said that the players have shown that only those who have determination and passion can win. He appreciated the efforts of the competition organizers to introduce something new in the competition every year. He said that it is pleasant that the new things that are done every year are no less than anyone else. This is a big thing.
He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, who has done development and upliftment work with sensitivity for the disabled people. Also, his mental and physical divinity has been exposed. He talked about being overwhelmed by the guardian spirit of the state Governor Patel. The Governor’s being ahead in social concerns was described as inspiring. He said that the efforts to eradicate sickle cell disease have taken the form of a movement only due to the efforts of the Governor.
Social Justice Minister Narayan Singh Kushwaha said that the state government is implementing disabled welfare efforts on a large scale. On the occasion of International Day for Disabled People, various sports competitions were organized in Gwalior. Earlier, handicapped cricket competition was organized in Gwalior itself. He said that the disabled players who won medals in Para Olympics have also been rewarded by the state government.
Deepti Patwa, founder of Umang Gauravdeep Welfare Society, gave information regarding the competition. Told that ten teams from eight states have participated in the competition. More than 180 disabled players are participating in the competition. In the program, disabled children presented songs in collaboration with Nirmala Upadhyay.
