Mumbai, 04 December (HS). The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) team has raided a private bus coming from Hyderabad in Mumbai and seized 16 kg of MD drugs and Rs 1.93 crore in cash. The value of the recovered drugs has been estimated at Rs 24 crore. DRI has arrested five people in this case. The DRI team is thoroughly investigating this matter.
A DRI official said on Wednesday that his team had received confidential information about drugs arriving in a private bus coming from Hyderabad to Mumbai. Based on this information, his team stopped a suspicious bus in Mumbai on Tuesday and conducted a raid. When the luggage of three people traveling in this bus was searched, white powder worth Rs 24 crore and cash of Rs 1.93 crore were found with all three. When this white powder was chemically tested, it was identified as MD drug.
(Mephedrone). After this, on Tuesday itself, when these three were interrogated thoroughly, the names of two more suspects came to light. The DRI team has also arrested these two accused. The DRI team is thoroughly investigating the five accused in this case.
