Sunita Williams News: Indian-origin American astronaut Sunita Williams is doing various experiments in space. Now they are growing something in microgravity, knowing which even people are surprised. Sunita, commander of the International Space Station, is now growing lettuce there. This is one of his various experiments. In which Sunita Williams plays the role of a farmer in space.

Various tasks performed in the space station
Sunita and Wilmore Butch are stranded in space for several weeks before June. Both went to the space station for a week, but due to technical problems in the spacecraft, their mission lasted longer. Now both will return in February next year with the help of SpaceX Crew-9. Meanwhile, both the astronauts are doing many types of work in the space station, which can benefit scientists in future.

This experiment will be useful in future

The purpose of growing lettuce in space is to learn how vegetables grow in microgravity. Also, how different amounts of water affect the growth of plants. Which can be used for farming in space in future. According to NASA, Sunita Williams started her day preparing to operate the Advanced Plant Habitat. That plant will serve as the first jockey lettuce plant for Habitat-07.

Through this experiment, scientists wanted to know how different moisture levels affect not only plant growth but also the nutritional level of lettuce. Let us tell you that Sunita Williams is doing other work in space including cleaning the bathroom of the space station. He worked on maintaining the Tranquility module a few days ago. It had a sanitation room and waste disposal.
