Rahul-Priyanka Gandhi’s convoy stopped in violence-hit Sambhal, standoff at UP border

Moderate violence: The convoy of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who were visiting violence-hit Sambhal, has been stopped at the Ghazipur border. Trying to stop Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from reaching Sambhal, the police administration has stopped his convoy at Ghazipur border. The police did not let them go safely. Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi along with five other Uttar Pradesh Congress MPs set out to visit violence-hit Sambhal on Wednesday but were stopped at the Ghazipur border.

Police stopped Rahul-Priyanka’s convoy at Ghazipur border for about 30 minutes. Congress told the police officials that only 5 people should be allowed to go. However, the officials told them that Section 163 has been imposed in Sambhal. Don’t go there now. The police appealed to Rahul Gandhi to return. Ghaziabad Police DCP Nimish Patil has spoken to Rahul Gandhi. He was informed about the situation in Sambhal and requested Rahul not to go ahead.

He is also joined by KC Venugopal, KL Sharma, Ujjwal Raman Singh, Tanuj Punia and Imran Masood. Rahul and Priyanka wanted to go there with the intention of meeting the families of those killed in the recent violence in Sambhal. However, the local administration has banned the entry of politicians and social workers into Sambhal till December 10. On the other hand, police is deployed on the Delhi border and barricading has been done. The administration was fully prepared to stop Rahul Gandhi at the Delhi border.

However, Rahul Gandhi’s convoy was stopped at Ghazipur border.

Imran Masood, who left for Sambhal with Rahul and Priyanka, said that you should get this road opened soon. Why are you troubling people? If you don’t want to let us go then stop us but don’t block people’s path.

Tanuj Poonia said, if you do not let us go today then we will go later, after the 10th.

– UP Congress Chief Ajay Rai said that we will go with 5 people, 5 people are allowed. Article 163 allows that 5 people can go. Efforts are being made to suppress atrocities in Sambhal.

Due to the possibility of a discreet meeting of Rahul and Priyanka, police barricading has been installed in Brajghat of Amroha. After this, the problem of traffic jam arose on the road.

– Meanwhile, Congress workers are protesting on Ghazipur NH9 and Raghupati Raghav is singing.

Congress leader Ajay Kumar Lallu said, why is the government stopping us? What are they trying to hide, what are they afraid of? Being the leader of the opposition, Rahul Gandhi has the right to see what is going on in the country. What happened in Sambhal is highly condemnable, people were killed, who is responsible for it? If opposition leaders do not go to the spot, how will they raise this issue in Parliament? We want to see the situation, but why is the government stopping us? Is this not dictatorship? Rahul Gandhi will definitely meet the victims’ families and raise his voice for them.

What is the whole matter?
