Uttar Pradesh leads the country in area inspection report in MNREGA

Lucknow, 3 December (Hindustan Reporter). To monitor the ongoing works under the MNREGA scheme, inspection work is being conducted by the government through the Area Officer App. To ensure the quality of the work going on under the MNREGA scheme, workplaces are inspected by officials for continuous monitoring.

As per the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, the Area Officer App is being used to monitor MNREGA schemes. The main purpose of launching the app is MNREGA, an ambitious scheme run by the government in which crores of rupees are spent. Through the Area Officer App, at the time of officer inspection visit, photos of the workplace are uploaded from time to time on the quality and usefulness of the progressive works of MNREGA.

According to the information received from the Rural Development Department, the state is currently at the forefront in the inspections conducted by the program officers, and has achieved more inspections than the target set by the state. This year, the state has crossed the target of 99,480 and achieved 1,22,681. More inspections have been done. The state ranks first in the country. Andhra Pradesh is in second place and Bihar is in third place.

Under the leadership and direction of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, special focus has been laid on the inspection work for intensive monitoring and transparency of the works going on under MNREGA. Through the Area Officer App, during the inspection visit by the District Magistrate, Chief Development Officer and Program Officer, the photo of the workplace is uploaded on the quality and utility of MNREGA works. The work of inspection of workplaces is being done rapidly by the Block Development Officer/Programme Officer. More than 1,22,681 inspections have been conducted so far this year. Financial year 2022-23 99,504 inspections were conducted. More than 1.50 lakh inspections were conducted in the year 2023-24.

Commissioner, Rural Development G.S. Priyadarshi directed all the responsible officers that the work of inspection is very important for monitoring and transparency of all the works being done under the MNREGA scheme. The importance of inspection work increases so that the work can be completed on time and its quality remains at a high level. Therefore, all the Block Development Officers should continuously check the reality of development works by inspecting the workplaces.
