District Deputy Commissioner and District Red Cross Society President Ajay Kumar said this in the meeting held at the Mini Secretariat of the District Red Cross Executive Committee on Tuesday.

He said that if any institution does not follow the prescribed standards, strict action will be taken against it as per rules. Giving his consent to the suggestions to increase the income of the District Red Cross Society, he instructed the District Development and Panchayat Officer that if the lease amount of any Panchayat land in the district is more than five lakhs per year, then five percent of that amount should be given to the District Red Cross Society. Disabled persons come to the District Red Cross Society every day, so that the disabled persons can get the equipment without any inconvenience and without wasting time, the process of setting up PM Divyansh Center and Aasra Center has been started in the building of the Red Cross Society in collaboration with Alimco Institute. . It was told in the meeting that the District Red Cross has no parking space anywhere except Panchgaon. In such a situation, DC Ajay Kumar also gave instructions to identify parking options at other places in Gurugram.

In the same sequence, along with various agendas of the meeting, construction of a new building of working women’s hostel located at Civil Lines was also discussed.

In the meeting, Society Secretary Vikas Kumar presented the project/work conducted by Gurugram District Red Cross Society and the progress report for the year 2023-24. Secretary Vikas Kumar said that with the help of social organizations, materials related to basic amenities were provided to the families affected by rain and fire at two places in the district. In this sequence, 56 life members were made in the Red Cross. In winter, 2236 blankets were distributed to people sleeping outside at night, to the homeless and to slum areas. Along with this, every year Youth Red Cross camps are organized in the college, in which the youth are made aware through information about Red Cross Society, prevention of social evils, first aid training and experts on various subjects.
