Araria, 03 December (HS). The operation of Jogbani-Siliguri Town Intercity Express train has once again been canceled till December 12. Due to continuous cancellation of this train, the business and other railway passengers of the region including Nepal are facing a lot of problems. Even before this, the train was canceled from 25th November to 30th November due to CRS works in Kusiargaon. Passengers say that since the train started, there have been fewer trains and more cancellations.
Actually, the operation of Intercity Express train between Jogbani and Siliguri started from March 4, 2024. Train number 15723/24 used to run between Jogbani and Siliguri five days a week except Wednesday and Sunday. By this train, other passengers including Nepal found it very convenient to travel till Siliguri in West Bengal. But citing technical issues, this train was canceled from August 1 to October 31, i.e. for three months. Due to the cancellation of the train, passengers had to face a lot of inconvenience during festivals. Once again the train ran from 1st November, which after running for about 24 days, was again canceled from 25th November to 30th November. Now there is a lot of anger among the passengers after hearing the news of cancellation from 1st December to 12th December.
Passengers say that Railways is deliberately canceling this train continuously due to bus or other pressure, while other trains are being operated regularly. Regarding the matter, Chairman of Citizen Struggle Committee Shahjahan Shad and Secretary Ramesh Singh said that this intercity train between Jogbani and Siliguri is a very important train from the strategic point of view. Despite this, the operation of this train is being targeted and canceled again and again by the Railway Administration. Due to which the passengers of Seemanchal and Nepal are facing problems. Economic exploitation is also forced. Due to repeated stoppage of train operations, a big conspiracy is being hatched to stop it. If there is a need for a mass movement along with civil struggle committee correspondence regarding this, then the movement will be forced.
