Khunti, March 14 (Hindustan Reporter) Life cannot be imagined without water, if there is water there is tomorrow]otherwise life ends the same day. Therefore, we should not waste this precious gem given by nature unnecessarily, everyone should be serious about water conservation, so that the coming generations do not have to yearn for it. These are the things said by BJP MLA from Khunti and former Rural Development Minister of the state, Neelkanth Singh Munda. Said. The MLA was addressing the meeting organized on Thursday after laying the foundation stone of water supply installation work and inaugurating the newly constructed solar based water tower in Bandhtoli village of Hassa Panchayat of Murhu block.
The MLA said that on his recommendation, the work of installation of a total of 205 water pipes, five each in 41 Panchayats of Khunti assembly constituency, is to be done by the Drinking Water and Sanitation Department. Highlighting the importance of water, he said that for the purpose of water conservation and agricultural upgradation, he has constructed thousands of ponds in the area. Jal Chajan Mission is a good example of this, through which many ponds were constructed even during his ministry. He informed that approval has been received for beer manufacturing work on Banai river in Murhu.
This will prove to be a milestone in providing clean water to the people of Murhu. Apart from these, the meeting was also addressed by Block Chief Alice Odeya, ZIP member Nelani Demata, Chief Jyoti Dodrai, Chief Nutan Devi, social worker Govind Manjhi, MLA representative Kashinath Mahato, Panchayat Committee member Manisha Kumari and Murhu Mandal BJP President Ram Bihari Lal. The welcome speech was given by village head Lodo Munda and conducted by Gomeshree Pahan. Earlier, on reaching the venue, the villagers welcomed the MLA in a traditional manner.
