IND U19 vs JPN U19: After losing to Pakistan in the first match, India’s Under-19 team made a strong comeback in the Asia Cup on Monday and defeated Japan by 211 runs. The hero of this victory was captain Mohammad Amman, who played an unbeaten inning of 122 runs in 118 balls.

Batting first, India gave Japan a difficult target of 340 runs on the basis of Amman’s century and half-centuries from openers Ayush Mhatre (54) and KP Karthikeya (57). The Japanese batsmen did not pose any challenge to the Indian bowlers and their team could only score 128 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs.

For Japan, Hugo Kelly was the top scorer by scoring 50 runs on 111 balls, while Charles Hinza played an unbeaten inning of 35 runs. For India, Karthikeya, Hardik Raj and Chetan Sharma took two wickets each. In the first match of Group A, the Indian team was defeated by Pakistan by 43 runs. Now they will face host UAE in the final league match on Wednesday. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.

Vaibhav flopped again
13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, sold for Rs 1.10 crore in the IPL auction, failed to score runs for the second consecutive match. Vaibhav, who scored one run in nine balls against Pakistan, could only score 23 runs in 23 balls against a team like Japan. He could score only one run against Pakistan.
