New Delhi, 2 December (Hindustan Reporter). Delhi Assembly has been made a joke. The government called the assembly session without any preparation and no issue of public interest was discussed in it. Despite the announcement of a three-day session, on November 29, on the first day of the session, the proceedings were wrapped up within a few hours and in the one-day proceedings, only criticism of the Central Government was made a part of the proceedings.

Vijendra Gupta said that the government had issued a bulletin saying that this last session of the Assembly would last for three days i.e. 29 November, 1 December and 2 December, but suddenly the House was adjourned at 4 pm on 29 November. Neither Question Hour was held, nor provision for short-term discussion and attention was made.

Gupta said that the government has sent the revised budget estimate to the Home Ministry for approval, due to which the session was not called on December 2.

Gupta questioned that if the government wanted to get the ‘Revised Budget Estimates’ approved then it should have been sent to the Home Ministry before that but the government deliberately did not do so and the session was called without any preparation to complete the formalities.

Vijendra Gupta said that despite the demand of the opposition, the government is not presenting the pending 14 reports of CAG in the House. The government does not want to make public the details of how public money is spent. The Chief Minister and ministers of the government are not ready to discuss issues of public interest. The government wants to run the House dictatorially and arbitrarily and is not concerned with the problems of the people.

He said that if the opposition wants to discuss Kejriwal’s Sheesh Mahal in the House, it is thrown out of the House by marshals. To avoid questions from the opposition, the provision for asking questions under Rule 280 was abolished.

Gupta has said that the AAP government has violated all constitutional norms, whereas this government, surrounded by allegations like liquor scam, education scam and health scam, should have accepted its failure. Gupta said that now this government has no right to remain in power and only a few days are left for the upcoming assembly elections. The people of Delhi will teach this government a lesson of corruption and consign it to the pages of history.
