Mumbai: A 34-year-old drunken man in Navi Mumbai allegedly called the police control room and threatened serial bomb blasts in Mumbai. The police took it seriously and investigated. However, the bomb threat turned out to be false. The police registered a case against the youth in this matter and conducted further investigation.
According to the information received, the incident took place today at around 5 am. In which 34 year old Anthony Dias, under the influence of alcohol, called Navi Mumbai Police Control Room and issued this threat.
In which the accused told the police that serial bomb blasts were going to happen in Mumbai. Considering the seriousness of the incident, the police immediately investigated the matter. However, this bomb threat turned out to be false.
After this incident, the police traced the mobile number used by the accused in Koparkhaine area and identified the accused. According to initial police investigation, the accused was under the influence of alcohol when he made the call. Therefore, he had given this threat only with the intention of creating ruckus. However, considering the seriousness of the matter, the police conducted a thorough investigation.
Police registered a case against Anthony under the Prohibition Act and section 217 of the Indian Penal Code (public servant using his lawful authority to give false information with intent to cause injury to another person). However, no arrest has been made in the case yet. The police conducted further investigation in this matter.
