Will exclude farmers from GST, improve crop insurance scheme: Rahul Gandhi

Mumbai, March 14 (HS). Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in Nashik on Thursday that if Bharat Aghadi government comes to power at the Centre, it will exclude farmers from GST and improve the crop insurance scheme. Rahul Gandhi said that farmers are protesting at the Delhi border and Ramlila Maidan for their demands, but the central government is not paying attention to the demands of the farmers.

Rahul Gandhi was addressing a public meeting in Nashik, Maharashtra today for Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Rahul Gandhi said that Modi government waived the loan of Rs 16 lakh crore of 22 billionaires but did not waive even a single rupee of the farmers. Those who are not aware of the problems of the farmers and do not understand their pain, what good will they do to the farmers? Raising questions about the welfare of farmers, MP Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress government and its doors will always be open for farmers and common people and when the Bharat Aghadi government comes, farmers will be kept out of GST and the crop insurance scheme will be restructured. .

Rahul Gandhi said that today the problems of farmers, unemployment, inflation, sharecropping are the basic issues in the country, but people's attention is being diverted from these issues. The crop insurance scheme benefits only the companies, there is a need to change the picture that farmers do not get help in case of loss, the crop insurance scheme will be restructured when the Congress government comes to power. Care will be taken to ensure that farmers are not affected by the import-export policy.

Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar said that the situation is such that agricultural crops like grapes, onion and cotton are not getting prices. A stand should be taken regarding the farmer getting two paisa. Today farmers are in trouble and BJP government is responsible for this. During the UPA government, the burden on farmers was lifted by waiving off loans worth Rs 70 thousand crore. Sharad Pawar alleged that the present BJP government is indifferent towards the farmers and the condition of the farmers is serious.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that Rahul Gandhi is listening to the farmers and people during the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra but some people only speak their mind. This journey has helped in connecting the country and the people. Chandwad is a city of onion but this onion has made the farmer cry. The Prime Minister of the country had given the slogan of Jai Jawan and Jai Kisan, but today both farmers and soldiers are dying in the BJP state.

On this occasion, Congress State President Nana Patole, Congress Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat, AICC media department in-charge Jairam Ramesh, AICC Secretary Ashish Dua etc. were present.
