Kanpur, 30 November (Hindustan Reporter). Former General Secretary of Kanpur Press Club, Kushagra Pandey, who was sent to jail in the case of occupation of Meghdoot Hotel located in Kotwali police station area, got bail on Saturday. He got bail from the District Judge’s court and was represented by advocates Shailendra Pandey and Shivakant Dixit.
On November 25, Kotwali police had registered an FIR against 31 people including Kushagra Pandey on the complaint of Meghdoot Hotel owner Ashok Kumar Malhotra. On the same evening, the police arrested Kushagra and sent him to jail. On Saturday, a hearing was held in the court of District Water Officer Pradeep Kumar Singh regarding the bail of Kushagra Pandey. Defense advocates Shailendra Pandey and Shivakant Dixit said that Ashok Kumar Malhotra presented a compromise deed in the court in which he informed that the keys of the part occupied by him have been found and the illegal occupation has ended. Along with this, it was also told that the civil case going on will also be withdrawn. The court approved the bail application of Kushagra Pandey by ordering him to submit two surety bonds of Rs 1 lakh each on the same agreement.
