The statue of former MLA Shridev Jha was ceremoniously unveiled in the upgraded secondary school campus in Sirsiakala village of Bhargama block of Araria district. The chief guests of this function included Health and Agriculture Department Minister Mangal Pandey and MP Pradeep Kumar Singh.
Ajay Kumar Jha told that Sridev Jha, born in 1932, died in 1997. He had laid the foundation of the school by giving land from his ancestral property. By laying the foundation of the school in Sirsia Kala, he had worked to awaken the spirit of education in rural areas. 16 Apart from being the head of Sirsiakala Panchayat for a year, he was the Vice President of Purnia District Congress for ten years and President for fifteen years. In 1977, he became Araria Became MLA of Bihar. Apart from being the Vice President of Twenty Points, he was the Vice Chairman of Bihar State Bridge Corporation. Shri Jha said that he has held various posts at Bihar and district level.
