Kokrajhar (Assam), 30 November (HIST). A district level consultation meeting on the implementation of schemes related to women was organized today at DC Conference Hall, Kokrajhar.

Chairing the meeting, Commissioner (DC) Masanda Pertin highlighted the changing forms of gender-based violence, which now extends to subtle forms such as cyberbullying, photo morphing and harassment of women on social media. He stressed the need to identify these microaggressions and address them proactively.

Along with this, the DC underlined the importance of strong legal safeguards, government initiatives and economic and educational support systems to empower women and bring them out of adverse situations.

Additionally, initiatives under National Gender Campaign 3.0, Gender Resource Center and Mission Shakti schemes were also discussed. The meeting concluded with all participants taking a pledge to work collectively to end gender-based violence.
