The third season of BCCI Women’s Premier League will start from February 23 next year. The mini auction of players for the upcoming tournament will be held in Bengaluru next month on 15th December.
The board has informed all five franchises about the venue and date. The M.League will start from Bengaluru from February 23 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and all the matches will be played in two cities Bengaluru and Delhi. There will be bidding for 19 places in the auction in which teams will be able to spend Rs 16.7 crore.
Each franchise team will have 18 players and can spend up to Rs 15 crore. Each team can have a maximum of six foreign players. After retaining players, Gujarat Giants have the biggest purse of Rs 4.4 crore and have four slots to fill. The first 11 matches of the league will be played in Bengaluru. The opening match of the season will be played between the current champion Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium will host the last 11 matches including the eliminator and final on March 15 and 17 respectively.
