The objective of the government behind this scheme is to eliminate social evils towards daughters and improve their education and economic condition.

Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, the Uttar Pradesh government provides assistance of Rs 25,000 to every girl child to complete her education from birth to class 12th. This assistance is given in 6 different installments.

Girls born on or after April 1, 2019, will be given a lump sum amount of Rs 2000. Apart from this, girls who have completed their vaccination within a year will be given Rs 1000 and Rs 2000 after enrollment in the first class. As soon as girls reach classes 6, 9 and 12, they will be given Rs 2,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.

However, the benefit of this scheme will be available only to those families whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh. Apart from this, the family should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh and should have a permanent residence certificate of the state.
