Hamirpur, 29 November (HS). The Income Tax Department’s raids at Rimjhim Ispat Limited and Juhi Allies operating in the industrial city Sumerpur have been going on continuously for the last 45 hours. Sources say that the Income Tax team has found huge irregularities in tax evasion. During the raid on Friday, a manager of the company went underground after getting an opportunity. In search of this, raids were conducted inside and outside the company but the underground manager was not found.
It is said that this manager is the main operator of Rimjhim Ispat and is also a shareholder of some percent. After being caught, many more secrets may also come to light. Half a dozen managers of both the companies are in the custody of the Income Tax Department team. The team is interrogating them by making them sit in different rooms. Fearing tax evasion, the Income Tax Department team along with the DGGI team of GST had simultaneously raided Rimjhim Ispat and Juhi Allies in Sumerpur town at 11 pm on Wednesday night. Since then the team’s raids are going on continuously. Production is at a standstill in both the factories since Thursday morning. Late on Thursday evening, when the company’s employees were being taken out, the chief manager of the company dodged the Income Tax team and ran away from the factory. In search of it, the team raided the factory inside and outside but it was not found.
The PAC force personnel accompanying the team are stationed from the main gate to the office and residential flats. No one is able to go from inside to outside and from outside to inside.
